[Connectivity] How would an user detect Litespan DSLAM?

I was told
quote:
If a user is on a Litespan DSLAM, speeds of 3Mbps and below will see throughput issues moving to the Juniper. 5-7Mbps do not see issues due to improved QoS profiles made for these packages, specifically for Litespan.

So, how does one find out if if on an Litespan DSLAM?

Thank you

Hmm, couple things...

1. Call and ask?
2. If you have a voltmeter, measure the DC voltage across the pair. Litespans typically don't put out a full 48-52 VDC. Around these parts (western NY) I usually see approx 44-46 VDC.
3. Depending on your modem, you might be able to tell by the transceiver stats page. Specifically the ADSL MODE field.

If it's important, I can tell you what you're on

I finally decided to call them.

Info obtainted..

#1 Type of DSLAM that I am on is Lite Span.

#2 Can not move me over to a new BRAS that is not a Redback router.

#3 No time line for IPv6, but I asked the person for a guess. They guessed five years and Verizon will tell all of their customers (For Landline Internet - not cell phone: DSL and FIOS as example) of this...

Still no info as to why, they can not update their IPv6 page and say that they are on hold until further notice

Which really ticks me off. If you are on hold until further notice, why can't you say so - instead of still saying 3Q 2012!!
