Depending on your market there is a new service Called »Aereo.com They are adding new markets regularly. Miami just started this month. Nice thing is they include all the sub channels which Sat & Cable generally don't. --

Online, No. If you have an fairly recent HD set it should have an ATSC tuner built in. That will pull in local OTA HD signals. You will need an antenna an a cable to connect them. -- Certified Jenius! |

Like I said they include all the Ch X.Y SD sub channels too (up to 3 per main channel I think it is)
It what I like best about it with no possibility of OTA in Key West (155mi from MIA) There are some sub channels showing great old seldom seen reruns. What I use it most for actually. I may drop it at the end of my trial though if they haven't gotten Android support together by then until they do. Its the mobility aspect I like most vs only Roku at home,

The legality of Aereo is in question. In the end the Supreme will decide if Aereo is legal or not.
If the OP actually lives in Riverside he could easily use an antenna. |

" Two networks, CBS and Fox, have threatened to halt over-the-air broadcasts and offer their shows only via cable and satellite systems if Aereo wins"
Yeah that would mean instant forfeiture of their station licenses.... and like they are about to do that
Personally I have never understood the carriage fees as they are not making any money on it as unlike cable channels they get no ad insertion opportunities,,, just plain retransmission, giving the stations many viewers that would otherwise never see them. Though Miami stations count us in their DMA and add rates it is absolutely impossible to get ANY of them OTA here 150 miles away. Same goes in hilly terrain especially with UHF. Cable/Sat and even Aereo are doing them a FAVOR and not really profiting from it in any big way, convenience for the viewer and many more eyeballs they would not otherwise have. |
