Operate Toshiba 24AF45 without remote

Writing to inquire if this television can be operated through button combinations on the set or through a universal remote. Have made some attempts with an RCA 8 in One and RCA RCR860 universal remotes. I have marginal experience with universal remotes but have been able to configure them... sometimes. Guidance sought

According to my experience, the basic functionality is usually available without the remote.

Much thanks for the timely reply. Yes I have on/off channels and volume but sometimes there is a way to use those buttons in particular combinations to change things like input... I have a blu ray player, digital antennae for local digital broadcasts and verizon FIOS. This is what I seek. Much thanks as I await a reply.

i think you would be better off finding a replacement remote and after a few quick searches, a replacement remote is available but not at a pretty cost advantage to you.

Much thanks for the timely reply. I would want to exhaust the possibilities before getting one more remote. Have the RCA 8 in One remote and still seek some possible codes for this unit...
