 | [AB] Having trouble opening port V1000H So I've been trying to open my port and kept failing. It's getting so frustrating and I dont know what Im doing wrong because I've read all the stuff I need to open my port but still fails everytime
I use this website to check if my ports are open and everytime I check it, its closed. Really need help because I won't go anywhere without any help.
I tried different combination using the routers lan address and my ip address.
I just tried to also open my the port on my windows firewall and still no result from the website. |

I've the similar issue, and it drove me crazy. I'm a IT guy, so I know how to port forwarding. Some online folks said factory resetting would do the tricks, but it's not helping me.
If I put modem into bridge mode, and use my own router, the port forwarding works. The only problem with bridge mode is that the Optik TV seems a bit slow in switching channel.
So I tried to keep V1000H, and just forward all the request to my old router 192.168.1.1. No ports is working... Something is up with the latest firmware or what? I just have it installed for a month, BTW.
Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Setting a static address worked for me with V1000H: »portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm Presently using Google DNS Servers 8 8 8 8 & 8 8 4 4 , Open DNS works well or Telus DNS. (make a note of any changes, easy to switch back) |

If the new port forward setting is not taking effect: If using Firefox, the gateway may not actually save the new setting. Not sure if it has to do with the page refresh rate while using Firefox. Use Chrome or Internet Exploder for changing settings.
