PnE and Absolution are alliance, AFAIK there's a couple of us that are horde but no real guild that link us all together. |
|
 | reply to AbruptMayhem
Yea it's just not the game it once was. It's a bummer there aren't many DSLR horde still playing. |

It would take nothing short of a miracle for me ^ |

I think Blizzard is fresh out of miracles for WoW. The best shot they have at that is their new MMORPG code name Titan. |

Haters gonna hate. This is some of the most fun I have ever had in Wow. I guess it all boils down to who you play with and what type of guild you are in. I could see if you only did lfr/dailies why you would be miserable. |

I have to agree, this patch has been A LOT of fun for my guildies and myself. Guild and server have been bursting with people having a great time since the patch. I still enjoy it though not as much as I once use too. I'm more into the PvP side these days. OQueue is a great tool to do stuff but it's just not as good as having regular people to do events with. Hence why I was curious if there was any life on Mal'ganis or it might get some life. |

I've got to say they seriously need to drag WoW up and give it a good shake.
As a casual player on a dead realm, in a dead guild it really is no fun. The cost of server transferring toons is far too high, and I'm better off using that cash to play a different MMO. Blizz have promised Connected Realms but by the time they arrive it's going to be too little too late and Mists of Pandaria will be almost done. You then question if you have the heart to do it all over again for whatever 6.0 brings when things might not be any better. |
|
 | Having free server transfers, or one fee for all your toons, might help. I might be more inclined to come back if say I can move my toons to join DSLR. |
|
 | reply to AbruptMayhem
Yea they should offer you 2-3 transfers per year with your subscription. They could limit it to one free move per character per year. Just something to entice people to come back and play with friends. |
|
 | reply to AbruptMayhem
It's the old argument about costs though. Personally I begrudge paying out further for server transfers as in my opinion it is Blizzard's duty to ensure my experience is enjoyable, it's what I pay them for.
Likewise the other side of the argument is that I chose the realm I did and have to suffer the consequences. How does anyone know that 3 years after joining a server it will go on to be a dead one though? and what guarantees do I have after paying to move 8 toons to a different server that that server too will not be dead in 3 years? |

That's why I bit the bullet and xferd when they were 50% off. |

I'm not sure I could get myself to pay for a transfer these days. |

if you do your homework and really look for a guild/server you want to be a apart of... it's always worth it... even at full price. Doing the homework might also lead you to quit playing altogether and find a new hobbie. Still worth the effort, IMO. -- Intelligence is no substitute for Character. |

Yea my alliance leaders did that once as well which is why I went horde. My first server was alliance and I still have 2 85's and 4 80's on that server. |

lol I was wondering that myself, as the last time I logged on to my toon in Aftershock, it asked me if I wanted to take over the guild. I thought "Hmmmm, that's not a good sign..."
I was hoping to get that guy maxed and start some deeper content with other people here, but that seems to be up in the air now. |

 | reply to AbruptMayhem
At risk of sounding like pandora I do like the way GW2 deals with factions, i.e. there are none.
Whilst the whole Alliance/Horde thing is good from a story point of view, it sucks I can't group with the opposing faction. No raid has been exclusive to a faction, orcs and humans both want the foul fiends in them dead so why can't they join together? |
|
 | reply to AbruptMayhem
I'm shocked they haven't made a raid where you get a buff that transforms you into something else (spirit?) so horde/alliance are all the same and can group for that raid. |

I play daily, so does Mattis/Wheeling. The guild transferred GM over to Mattis. It's not so bad having just the two of us in a lvl 25 guild. I have battletag friends galore and friends on Mal'Ganis that I used to mud with back in the 90s. |
