[Beta] Firefox 25.0 Beta |
|
|
Mozilla is inviting a sh*tstorm with this Australis theme and either people will stick with 24 ESR, use a fork like Pale Moon or defect from using any variant of Firefox entirely. |

I'll probably jump to Pale Moon myself. No way am I using that gawd awful browser! Although I might, if this add-on does as advertised. If not - bye Mozilla. » www.ghacks.net/2013/09/0 ··· aunches/ |

Why is FF changing its Versions every month. I haven't really delved into the security fixes, if any, but personally I don't notice any difference between 23 and 24. I like FF every version recently has the same problems (lock ups, scripts etc). |

Same here. The funny thing is I've always customized Firefox to have a minimal look but now they want to force it on me. I like to have options. I also need my add-on bar and I'm not installing an add-on so I can have my add-on bar back. It sounds ridiculous because it is ridiculous. |

Well I think that I just might install this to have a look. If it is what I think it is then I will for sure be sticking with 24.0 ESR for as long as I can or as you mentioned...Pale Moon.
EDIT: OK, I am not seeing apparently what everyone else is ? I backed up like I usually do using Mozilla Backup and then uninstalled 24.0 completely and installed 25.0 Beta 2. Everything looks the same to me. |

I agree. I installed the Portable Beta and used my Version 24 Profile. Everything looks exactly like my V24.0. What's the beef? |

said by capdjq:Why is FF changing its Versions every month. For the same reason Chrome is doing it (every 6-8 weeks, not every month). The web is moving fast and browsers are wanting to keep up. There are a lot of new technical functions being added, most of which you wouldn't notice as a user, but we web developers are thrilled excepting the fact that it's become harder to keep on top of it all. |

Haven't really tried betas before. If I install it would it mess up my install of 24? |

I threw the 25 beta on my linux install, at least on linux no installer is required, just uncompress, and run anywhere on your disk. I can still use complete themes, they hid the link under the themes drop down, but you can still get them. So if you don't like the theme you can still change it. » addons.mozilla.org/en-US ··· -themes/Posted from the latest beta too. |
|
|
Since I haven't used Complete Themes thus far, using one would get rid of that god awful Australis BS? |

No. Firefox 23 - 10 betas Firefox 24 - 10 betas Firefox 25 - 10 was supposed to be the final beta (..they did an extra beta and respin the RC to disable OCSP stapling, which was causing intermittent Twitter/Tumblr/Soundcloud stylesheet issues (per latest meeting notes) There may be some changes in beta channel in future. |

FF has been acting up since v24 ,freezing when typing, using 100% CPU frequently when minimized. So I installed this beta and as usual my themes supposedly aren't compatible but they all work as you can see. I still use version 12 on my W2K drive and it works like a charm. NEW AND UPDATED IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER. |

If you haven't already, make a new profile to see if that clears your issue, and you might just need to disable hardware acceleration in firefox and flash if they are conflicting with your video drivers.
I have Firefox working fine in XP, Win 8.1, and linux. |
