| Anime/Sci-Fi is now in Technical forums? Huh? What bonehead decided this? Nobody comes to this forum because they create, setup, fix or otherwise do something technical with anime or sci-fi or fantasy content. People come here to talk about what they've seen or read or want to see or read. Sure, there may be the occasional technical issue associated with how to watch or read something (for example, streaming issues), but that doesn't make this a technical forum. This forum has always been [almost exclusively] about talking about the topic--about what others do; and talking about some "technical" details now and then doesn't make this a technical forum either. This is still a "social" forum. And unless someone is planning to cater to the few people who actually do make the content (in which case that someone will have a long wait), then this will remain an "all talk" (no walk) forum. |

I posted in a forum dedicated to things you don't like about the site. Justin is not going to move it, he's going to change what "technical" is but that's about it.

3 recommendations | I don't bother giving feedback about the "design" or "organization" of this site anymore. It just falls on deaf ears (blind eyes?).
Anyone have a recommendation for other scifi-related community forums out there? I tried io9.com for awhile but I'd be happier with just a straight-up forum...
P.S. the librarian in me cringes when I look at: »Tech / Special Interest and see this forum listed there now. Sigh.

I think I sort of addressed this in another thread above adding TV to the mix (Movies, TV, On Demand, Streaming) so it'd be similiar to the DSLr Pub. Since most of the technical gadgetry is allready taken care of on the Audio/visual board.

IMHO they still need to make this board like the Pub board, and set tabs for each special interest category, I think that would help loads. But thats just my opinion.

When I noticed the change from "Anime/Sci" Fi/ to "Anime/Sci Fi/TV" I though:
"OK, I guess",....
Although I didn't mention it I had a sinking feeling that we would see more and more generalized TV posts and "Anime/Sci" posts would get lost in the shuffle as time goes by,......
So I guess its a good thing that there are group links at the top to filter.
Still can't shake the feeling that the floodgates are now open though,.... |

Being that specialized keeps the forum a tad to quiet, and opening it up a bit more can't hurt. |

I did add your suggestions and a few more to the "Group" tab for thread starters if that helps sort things out a bit. Best I can do at this point but will gladly add anything else in there.
