 | New (custom) install I will be moving to a new home next month, and I was wondering if it is possible to get a custom install arranged. I believe the previous person had DSL for internet access. However, I know there was also cable television, so there is obviously cable going into to the home (it is a 4-plex). I am concerned that the main cable access point where I connect my modem will not be in an area where I need it. Will the technician (installer) be able to run cable and terminate it to a wall-plate where I need it? I will also need new connectors for at least televisions as well, as two of them are most definitely not in the spot where the television monitors will be. Is there a good way to go about this when transferring my account to the new premises? Should I make this known when I go to order what I need at the new home? (PS: it is a 4-plex which we own ... the whole building). |

| The tech will not open your walls to install the modem or phone jacks where you want them. The mode they will do is run a line externally to where ever you want the modem or tv to be. I think basic install fees cover only one jack and there is a fee for additional lines.
Would he totally up to the technician who is probably third party anyways if he would do additional jack installs anyways. I would have cogeco mention in your install notes that multiple jacks may need to be hooked up so they can schedule the tech for a long enough time. |

We try to use the existing cabling. If there's an area that you want an outlet that doesn't currently exist, there would be a charge to put one there. We won't run cables inside walls (as stated above), but more likely run along baseboards, etc.
Best bet is to call in and talk to one of our customer service representatives. They'll give you a quote based on what you're looking for. |

I called for a quote and was advised that the install is $29.95 per outlet to be run. Cogeco_Aaron is right, they will only along baseboards. I have this stupid problem because I have only 1 cable jack in my apartment. Would love to know the electrician who thought it was smart to only put 1 cable jack and install it above an electrical heat register. Boo to this. |
