Basically correct, but I do wonder if in this case there might not be a signal problem... You'd probably drop connection completely though, rather than fall back to 1 channel.

So.. IF it isn't disrupting your service right now, wait a month or two (until Rogers stops doing all this work). If it is still happening then, there might be something wrong.

edit: reboot is only 20 seconds or so

12 - 48 hours, tops. More than that then likely some sort of issue. Thats when you contact Direct Forum and do your little song & dance.
