CBS - Des Moines Area - no audio

We're getting no audio on CBS (channel 8) in the Des Moines area on both of the TVs in our house that use the digital converter. The TV that's hooked up to the digital box is having no issues on Channel 8 or the HD version, 808.

I am not seeing any issues on the Master Headend in the area. Are you still having the issues with the channel?

Yes. I just checked both TVs again. No audio. I'm not sure how long the issue's been occurring even. I only turned on CBS last night to watch the Emmy awards. We did have a significant storm come through the area last Thursday that left most of my neighborhood without power, and I heard from people who still had power that the cable was out. Maybe it's associated with that? Or it could be something else entirely.

I checked the Master Headend in the area, and the HD as well as the SD channels both have sound. Are you having the issue connected to the box or with the coax connected direct to the TV?

It's on two separate TVs that have the small converter boxes. They're older TVs, so coax hooked directly to them no longer works since the digital transition.

My HDTV gets audio on both the standard and HD versions.

I can send signals to both boxes to see if any change, but if there isnt, I will need to setup tech visit to look into it since I was not able to replicate issue.

It turns out it's just one TV that's the problem after all, after fiddling with the rarely-used second once more.

If you want to send a signal, that would be helpful. I tried unplugging the box, letting it sit a while, and then plugging it back in, and had no luck. Just let me know what information you need.

I just need the SN of the box you are having issues with.

Remember, you said you were viewing channel 8 SD channel 2 through 22 is available in analog format for any TV. hooked directly to the cable it you won't get channels 23 through 78 anymore however without some sort of box

I think I'd forgotten that detail, thanks for the reminder. The hit to the box did take care of the issue at least. Since it's an older TV in a large TV stand, it's difficult to access the coax that goes directly into the back of the TV so I would have been hesitant to mess with that anyway. I'm glad the picture is slowly deteriorating so that I'll have an excuse to actually upgrade the thing within a year or so.
