CEL goes away?

All summer long I drove my Civic with CEL on for what appeared to be a bad cat according to the code. I'm not up for inspection until next year so I left it alone.

Ever since getting transmission fluid changed, the CEL has remained off.

Yes... The CEL still works. It lights up whenever I turn on the car then shuts right back off.

Only other difference between then and now is the weather. It's cooler now that fall is here. I'm not sure if that would have any effect.

I know I have to change the cat sooner or later, preferably later as I approach the emissions inspection. Is this coincidence I guess?

How long ago was the fluid change? Only thing that comes to mind is the shop had to disconnect the battery for some reason, which of course would clear the codes if disconnected long enough. Certain codes require a particular amount of time and occurrences to set, so it could still be on the horizon.

I had the fluid changed almost a week ago. The car has been driven for about maybe 40 miles since then.

When the CEL first came on for the cat, I did the same trick; disconnect battery; to see if it would go away. And it did; for about an hour. LOL
