Some are ok but with floating pixel noise. Most SD channels are OK. This is via the SA 8300 HD-DVR. Here's the list of bad channels: 101 (SD) 196 (SD) 197 (SD) 200 (HD) 201 (HD) 202 (HD) 203 (HD) 205 (HD) 206 (HD) 211 (HD) 218 (HD) 220 (HD) (ok, but occasional glitches) 222 (HD) 227 (HD) (ok, but with noisy pixels) 249 (HD)
Anyone else notice this? I guess I need to call WOW? |

 | Mine video pixelation issues have gone down in recent months. I only notice it now with premier nights, like AMC's Waking Dead.
Call them up and have 'em come out. |

Call 'em up. Months ago before Knology was bought out by WOW, C-SPAN had these pixelated glitches and artifacts. I called them up and told them what was going on. It just affected C-SPAN. Within about a couple hours, there was a Knology truck in the alley and fifteen minutes later the picture was fixed.
There has also been the case when CNNHD glitches and CNN (SD) doesn't.
I get this occasionally with HD channels, but that problem seem to go away on their own. I think it's because there's just not enough bandwidth in the pipe and some channels are being affected by this lack of bandwidth. It's compounded by the fact that many service areas are not "all digital" but a mixture of digital and analog. Analog is a bandwidth hog and what bandwidth there is, is nearing the point of being maxed out.
It will be beneficial once WOW ditches the analog channels in favor of going all-digital. Then they can offer higher speeds on the internet and more channels on TV. Until that point, the gripes will continue. |

Make sure you try to power cycle your cable box before you call. I've had stutter and drop out issues once and a while, and restarting the box somehow fixes it for months at a time. |

I had a problem like that years ago. It took multiple service tech visits for them to track the problem to a bad connection on the pole. -- no .sig found, please restart your browser. |
