I would like to know if I should change my hard drive after seeing other's lose all their information. The report it gave me is as follows:

Please re-obtain the same attributes using a newer version of smartmontools (6.2 preferred). Some may be being decoded incorrectly given the age of the tools.

Note for readers: ST9750420AS is a 2.5" form-factor mechanical drive, which means it's probably in a laptop.

At first glance your drive looks in perfectly good condition. Things that catch my eye but are not of concern:

i) Drive may be running hot, but I cannot state this for sure without newer smartmontools being used,

ii) Attribute 191 shows that the shock sensor has been triggered a total of 161 times, so you are probably lifting and carrying and setting down your laptop while it's on (which is fine),

iii) Attribute 193 may worry you given some things you may read online, but this is normal behaviour for a 2.5" form factor drive (to excessively park its heads). Given that it's in a laptop this is good behaviour,

iv) Attributes 1, 7, 188, and 195 are vendor-encoded and are not literal values; newer smartmontools may have capability to decode these, but most of the time it doesn't. There's nothing to be worried about here,

v) Your most-recent extended offline SMART test (probably a long test) completed w/out issue, so there should not be any sector/LBA-level issues.
