Didn't see another thread..........so what did anyone think of the pilot?
Thought it was great lots of action and Spader makes a great villain.
It seems obvious to me that he is her long lost father or at least knew him, cause he has a lot of info on her.........and gave himself up because he found out about her husband and wanted to do something before they adopted a kid.
But who knows. lol -- Sarcasm is the body's natural defense against stupidity.
PVR'd it last night.. watching it now... I think it is almost done now
Pretty cool idea for a show IMO
I wonder why the character Spader plays seems to all of a sudden grow a conscience
edit: just read your spoiler and that seems like a plausible scenario -- "The hardest thing about any political campaign is how to win without proving that you are unworthy of winning." ~ Adlai E. Stevenson
#1 problem, it's 22-23 episodes, over the next 8 months or so. America will get tired it quickly, and based on early reviews over IMDB, and around the net, it'll last maybe till Christmas.
Now on to the pilot
The helicopter scene and all the cars showing up at her home was SOO over the top.
2nd issue, why is the 'victim' in the lead car? 3rd issue, why would they stop in middle of a bridge and the "road is out" what numbskull picked that route? 4th issue the fbi agent, who was the "lead agent" gets blown so far (and it's amazing how the force of the explosion blew him OVER the guard rail ) into the water and he's no worse for wear.
That said, I don't look for plot holes, but they were so blatant it wasn't funny, it was like the writers weren't even trying and figured that Spader can carry the show himself.
This is going to be the "Criminal of the week" type series,I'm going to pass. -- No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake.......
I thought it was ok. Edit: The intended kidnap victim, the little girl, was in the second car. The lead car had already completed the u-turn. That whole scene was screwy though.
While I'm at it, she loaded a fresh clip, while the bad guy was dangling the gas mask, why didn't she shoot him? And did all the bad guys only have one clip for their assault rifles/
It's worth a shot. It's downfall could be if this FBI competes with the one from The Following for Most Incompetent Law Enforcement Agency. -- Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.
See you're watching it because of Spader, not the show proper,. Spader shouldn't be the reason (one of the reasons perhaps) that the show does well.
A show's performance is based on two factors: the actors and the writers. In this case, the writers did a good job, but Spader is what brought the show together.
I agree, but the actors shouldn't ovewhelm the story, and that's what I'm, getting from this. People are watching because it's Spader and thus Spader takes over the show. The other characters become mere supporting actors.
It was the pilot and I'll give it a couple more, but the pilot is supposed to be the strongest , catch them by the boo boo's episode -- No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake.......
Why are most dissecting this pilot .......just because Spader was great in it?
It was the best pilot of any show so far this Fall...........it had more action and twists than any and had the best acting from even the character actors.
What else do you want from a TV show? -- Sarcasm is the body's natural defense against stupidity.

Agreed! And I usually dont put much faith into a pilot. Theyre usually spent introducing characters and basic plot and not that much into actual good details/storyline. I think this show is going to do really well. -- Just cause you got the monkey off your back doesn't mean the circus has left town. Team Helix- Folding@Home and Rosetta@Home
I'm still along for the ride -- nice twist at the end. I will repeat my previous comment, that I hope that this FBI doesn't give The Following's FBI a run for its money as Most Incompetent Law Enforcement Agency. Come on FBI: you have a million agents and cops from two countries covering that restaurant and nobody is watching the back door? -- Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.
Same here. I'm telling you, I bet Spader is her father.
Was it just me, or did the symbol on the top of that wooden box she found, look exactly like the scar on her hand? -- "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use." - Galileo
I found the second episode even more entertaining than then the first.
ALL of the characters are doing an excellent job. And Spader continues is domination (His on the screen, and his character's of the FBI within the story).
I hope the interesting and entertaining writing continues.
I'll take back my previous comments, the 2nd episode was much better.
The got the cars right, they made sure the put the french in,the colour of the band around their hats..
Somebody else was listening too, the "cage" no longer opened in a cartoon fashion. -- No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare.
