Fury is a much more precise class and rotation is super important where as arms is more burst and easier to master. Fury usually has more consistent dps which makes it better for raiding overall. Im sure certain specs will be better for different fights. With the buff to slam, sweeping strikes and thunder clap, I feel that arms will be very similar in dps to fury overall. Fury could beat it out more with much higher Ilvls.
In this case as said a million times before, play the spec you love because i dont see much of a difference in dps numbers at the end of the day. However, coming from a pvp player, I may have no clue what im talking about lol.
**Btw as im sure you know, Warriors dmg is based hugely on weapon dmg. That being said if you decide you want to go fury, i would wait until you get two great weapons (benefit of arms is you only ever need one). |

They're similar but it does depend on weapons/gear. I have been playing fury for a long time because its the most fun for me. Titan's Grip with high crit makes for pretty high burst damage. I did the whole tank/shield thing for a long time but enjoy the high DPS much more. Of course its personal preference. |

I agree with Roided (play the spec you love), with a caveat. It's one thing if you're running LFR - and whether you're doing 130k dps in the spec you love, or 138k dps in a spec you dislike - it's pretty irrelevant to the raid being successful. However - if you're in a regular raiding group, and you've been stuck on a boss for awhile - then you probably want to bite the bullet and switch over to the higher dps spec. That's a case where every possible advantage needs to be pursued. |

I've been playing fury pretty much exclusively since late BC (some offtanking in Wrath but that's about it). I've always thought about trying arms but never got around to it.
With the hotfix/maintenance yesterday, Bloodthirst and Raging Blow each got bumped up 20% in damage. I've noticed quite a big jump in corresponding DPS. I'm not sure how arms compares to it right now, but pre-hotfix it was in between TG and SMF fury at 522 ilevel. At 502, arms is on top (see here).
Having said that, I agree with the other comments on playing what feels most comfortable to you. Give fury a try, but don't hesitate to switch back if it just doesn't work well for you. Given that the majority of the DPS specs for all classes are within 10% of each other, don't sweat it.

The real/main question that needs answering by you is what are your current goals in raiding? Are you the LFR/Flex king? Or are you the normal raider looking to open the door, or already through the door, to heroic raiding?
If the first, the above advice from all is exactly what you do. However, if you're the normal raider looking/already progressed into heroics, then the "bite-the-bullet" advice will be the thing you have to do to ultimately be successful in your goals. This game is truly all about doing what you love, but in heroic content, the guild comes far before personal goals.
Beating a dead horse, I know, but if there was any fogginess to your choice, maybe this will help. |

Always, always, always play the role you enjoy playing.
The only time it is acceptable to switch is if you are in a raiding guild and are asked to fill in tanking or healing, or if the other DPS roles have a significant (50k+) difference. In MoP no specs are that far removed so play what you have more fun with. |
