Fibe 175 will only be available if you get FTTH. -- Opinions expressed are my own, and may or may not reflect those of my employers or any other BCE company or division. |

 | I will.
Currently I only have DSL, nothing fancy. |

How did you make it work with your Asus routeur? Which setting you had to change? I want to keep the lan1 on the ont for the sagemcom for tv, and activate the lan2 for my Asus routeur... |

You would need to contact Bell to have another port enabled. -- Opinions expressed are my own, and may or may not reflect those of my employers or any other BCE company or division. |

You use your own DNS server ?? or use Bell's DNS ?? And you're using your own B1 username ??
Last year, if you were using dns server like open DNS and kept default login in sagemcon, that kind of speed occured (260-280 down, 200 up). It stopped working. Last time I tried, any service except on port 80 was working. So navigating the web using https was working but http on port 80 was redirected to bell's websit asking to login. Any other servises was also working like mail, ftp, ssh, vpn, etc. |

Yeah I know, I'm à bell tech, I guess it wont be that hard to enable it. I think I can do it myself, but Ill do it the right way by calling tech support. |

Holy Hanna remember when we had dial up modems and were amazed when 56K came out? |
|
sbrookPremium,Mod join:2001-12-14 Ottawa kudos:11 | The 56 K that barely anybody could get because of signal level regulations (seem to recall the best most people could get was 52!) |

| I remember playing Descent at 14.4 k because my modem was a combination sound card and modem and the sound wouldn't work if I put it at a faster speed. -- My Canada includes Quebec. Disclaimer: If I express an opinion, it is my own opinion, not that of Bell or its related companies. |

 | reply to Thane_Bitter Hmm ... What's the point to buy Ferrari in Ontario if the max speed limit is 100 km/h? Are you really so happy to live under the cap in Canada? |

I'm jealous of just 25/25. Currently on 50/3 cable in BC that's more like 35/2 |

Depending on what else you have with Bell. Either you pay $10 or $30 more and you can have unlimited. However I am not sure whether they will let you host servers at home using a "Home" account. -- H. Lo North York, Ontario

Well, I am running different kind of server for myself on different port. I have a web server so I can manage my home and network. I have an FTP server to bring external backup to home and I have at least 5-6 others servers.. VPN, RDP, etc. They are all working on the default port. The only thing it doesn't work well is the SMTP on port 25 but this you can change it to be on 487 or 587. |
