 | [CA] Cox Ultimate in El Cajon getting 30/7 MBPS average? I pay for ultimate but most days am lucky to get 30 MBPS down and 5-7 up. I thought I was paying for 50. Anyone else getting similar speeds? Cox tells me the connection is fine, but I wonder... |

 | Perhaps a misunderstanding? My test now just gave me 23Mbps. Cox Ultimate advertises 50Mbps. Yesterday the Cox tech came by and discovered that their local cable box on the street was only delivering 4 of 8 channels to my modem. They are supposed to fix it next week. Thanks for your reply. |

Is terms of broadband speed a capital B is completely different than a Lowercase b.
A Capital B is 8x faster than a lower case 1.
Cox measures their speeds in Mbps. |

 | Thank you for your comment. A second Cox technician - a more thorough one - came and discovered the problem was in the cabling in my building. Once replaced, my speeds are now 53/6 Mbps on average, so I'm happy to again get what I paid for. |
