[Latency] High Ping during day

I've had windstream for about 6 years or so. Aside from problems off and on the service has never been too bad until recently. I live just outside the 3 mile area, however that has never been a problem. About 5 months ago we were able to upgrade to 1.5mbps and the connection was perfectly fine. A month or so after that we upgraded the speed to 3.0mbps. The speed was fine but we kept getting disconnected so opted to lower the speed back to 1.5

Since then we have had problems. Up until a few weeks ago we were still experiencing random disconnections every 5 mins or so. But that was fixed with the most recent technician visit. However we still have had no solution to the the high ping problem. Anywhere from about 2am to 9am the ping is perfectly fine. But from 9am to 2am it can be 70 one second and 500 the next. I've had no success with technical support, they always insist on sending out a technician, who in turn states they have found nothing wrong inside the house and suggest lowering the speed. Lowering the speed doesn't have much effect on your ping.

So hopefully I get a solution from this. Any help is much appreciated.

Good Luck, I am still waiting for someone to fix my issues and now I am getting up to 12 modem reboots a day and still getting noise on local phone calls with brand new hard line phone and slow speeds.

Yea, good luck. Windstream doesn't fix problems on their end. I've been in a latency outage (oversold) area since Nov. 2011 and they have done nothing to fix it. They have no competition so I guess they're not in a hurry. My cousin that's only 4 or 5 miles down the road is on Windstream and his connection is always 3.0mbps, but mine is less than 1.0mbps and 200ms ping until around midnight when the traffic slows down.

Re: [Latency] High Ping during day

So they are wanting to send out a technician yet again. Though, I'm strongly against it. I'm not having speed issues. The issue only arises at a certain time frame, every day. If it were a problem on my end the time would make no difference, the problem would either occur all the time or randomly.

Well I at least know what is causing the high pings. Or I think I do. My downstream SNR margin ( the one that should be around 10) mystically drops to about 3.6 at about 10am and stays there until 2am.
