Re: [Exede] Found something interesting.

I am not happy because somebody downloading that much data during primetime hours could be impacting performance for other users on that beam and/or gateway. All we need is a few people ruining the system for everybody else and the next thing that happens is the LNFZ is removed for all users. Hughesnet once had unmetered usage at night too. However, because some people abused that feature, they eliminated it completely with Gen4.

And if I had to guess...this "loophole" is unplugging the modem during the LNFZ and then not plugging it in until several hours after the LNFZ ends. So the modem never receives the signal to start "counting" data again.

OMG ... that works ... thanks for exposing the loophole.
This makes Exede again worthwhile !

I'll only be on Exede for a few more months then I'm out of your hair. And the unplugging thing doesn't not work I'v tried it but that's not it.

Edit: Abusing unmetered access is a bit of a oxymoron. How can I abuse something that's free reign?

Such impact is impossible because the Network Management Policy would automatically slow his speed.

It did after the 20th hour from getting 1.8-2MB/s to getting 500-700KB/s
