Music and sounds

How do you guys play your WoW with regard to sounds and music?

Personally I have the volume on pretty low through my speakers, with the "play in background" option checked so I can see if my queue pops whilst on Chrome. Music is turned off so I can listen to my own music.

Vent, Mumble etc. go via my headphones as my sound card gives me the option to choose the headphone jack as a separate output source.

I have my sound on low, because I still use it with GTFO addon.

Question for those in the know. I would love to play my Itunes music while playing, but the music players that I know of only play MP3, not the Apple versions. Is there a music player for those file types?

I believe that iTunes supports various file types (at least version 11 claims to be able to convert between them). What are the source files? mp3, aac? Winamp plays most things although you may need to download some codecs first.

iTunes really does suck as both a media player and storefront. Apple put on so many needless restrictions it just isn't worth bothering with. The few MP3's I do buy I get from Amazon, but it's just as easy to record from Spotify.

I use GTFO too, but it's loud as anything even when everything else is low.

they are mostly .m4a files.

GTFO really is a great raiding addon, there are so many things to watch and sometimes the graphics are so screwed up the audio noise from that is the only way to know you are standing in something.

Should work for playing them in Winamp.

I play the wow sounds via my kliptch 2.1's and vent via my monitor's speakers.

The first three years I played WoW, I raided with sound off because my sound card couldn't handle both Vent on my headphones and wow sounds on speakers. I missed so many epic Boss emotes and nearly forgot what a cacophony 25m raiding was. Now I usually have it turned low for boss fights as I have a better rig, but I use an addon to reduce other players' ability sounds.
