 | Connection LAB - have you heard of it? Few days ago I was recommended Connection Lab HDMI cable (because I asked for as long as possible, it was 15m). I didn't order it because I have no idea about this brand. Do you, maybe? |

I can drive someplace not too far away to pickup a in-wall(better shielding) 15' cable for $8, and they work. Brand doesn't really matter, far too many of these brands are rip off brands like Monster. -- I distrust those people who know so well what god wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires- Susan B. 15 meters is about 50 feet. Monoprice sells HDMI cables up to 100 feet looks like (50 and 75 as well). I don't know how much shipping will cost to you but they're about $50. |

I'm not even so sure you can go 50 feet with a regular HDMI cable. -- 75/35 FIOS || MSN Msgr: scott001^gmail_com |

BlitzenZeusBurnt Out CynicPremium join:2000-01-13 kudos:3 | Without confirming it I thought the signal loss started on ethernet cables at around 300ft or 100 meters, it's just that most people do not need cables that long.
Another source had hdmi cables at 100' without any signal loss, but the only issue became cross talk which required better shielded cables. -- I distrust those people who know so well what god wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires- Susan B. Well, I am from Poland so shipping from UK should be less costly. I am curious if 15m HDMI will work with no loss and I guess I'll go back and order Connection Lab I'll let you know what's going on, thanks!
Btw why do you say Monster is a rip off? |

| There is a large box retailer in the USA called Best Buy. They are borderline evil. One tactic of theirs is to sell a TV or audio system for a sale price and pressure the employees to push Monster cables on the customer as an add-on sale item (add ons are a big deal in USA retail). Thing is, the markup is outrageously high and the quality is no different. They have their employee hype the cables as being almost magical and that, if the customer goes with cheap no name cables they will burn in hell, if you catch my drift. I detest Best Buy, I really wish we had a Fry's here in CT. Monster cables are no more magically better than any other over priced cable. Here in the states we can order from Monoprice or Meritline and get great cables for a 10th of what a monster cable costs, or even less. When I'm in BB and see someone get suckered into Monster cables I say "SUCKER!" under my breath in a high pitched voice (like my buds in college used to say). -- Join Teams Helix and Discovery. A good, worthwhile read on HDMI cable length:
They are not necessarily promoting their own cable but pointing out some very pertinent technical issues. The take-home message is:
said by Blue Jeans Cable :if the cheapest cable will do everything you ask of it, there's no picture improvement to be had in going to the best cable (this is, after all, a digital signal), but if what you ask of it may change, the answer may change, too. [...] if your installation will not restrict your access to your cable, and if the inexpensive cable works well with your gear today, there's no compelling need to have the best possible cable quality. Try getting honesty like that from Monster. |
