|
 | Thanks Rocca, so now we request of you to enable it on our account or we enable it within Netflix? |

|
 | Yep, already checked my account and it is already on the highest quality. Now how do you locate a server?? that supports super HD? Not sure what you mean by that. |

Only some apps/devices support SuperHD. For example, the PS3 and Windows 8 App clients do, but the Silverlight browser client don't. So if you're on a PC using your web browser to watch Netflix, it doesn't support SuperHD. But if you download the Netflix app from the Windows 8 app store, it does. -- Latest version of CapSavvy systray usage checker: »CapSavvy v4.2 released! |

Indeed, depending on the bitrate, one is looking at 2-3+GB per hour of viewing. That can quickly add up! |
|
 | I've been getting Super HD for a while through Start |
|
 | reply to Guspaz
Thanks Guspaz, I'll be viewing through the app from now on. |
|
 | If you hit select on the PS3 (there are ways for other apps) it will show you the quality netflix is streaming at. |

Interesting, As the silverlight in my browser, says HD enabled, and such when watching netflix, Though I am using a proxy access which supports HD as well.
Could it be that my setup is different, As I can definitely see the difference with SuperHD enabled on my browser, or could it show it as enabled, but not really enabled?
Or is it to let me know that High Def is playing, just not SuperHD?

TOPDAWGPremium join:2005-04-27 Midland, ON kudos:3 | it's just the normal HD playing. |
|
 | For Windows, it must be Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 right? What about browser? |
|
jborgs join:2012-08-19 Oshawa, ON | Correct. You cannot view SuperHD with a browser, it must be through the Windows 8 app and your computer's resolution must be equal to or greater than 1080p. |
|
 | Cool, i will upgrade my Windows 7 (that is connected to TV) to Windows 8 today and give it a try.
Thanks |
|
 | I just updated Windows 7 to Windows 8.
Installed Netflix APP from Apps in Windows.
It doesnt say if its playng HD or SHD or whatever, how can i know?
Its connected with HDMI (1080p) PC.
Thanks |

Press CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-S (also works in the browser, but only when not fullscreen) and you should see information on the bitrates that are being used or available. 3850 or so is the highest it went without SuperHD. With SuperHD, I believe 4300 and 5800 are added. So if you see 4300 and 5800 in the list, then the title is available in SuperHD (and is supported by the app you're using) and those bitrates will be used if your connection is fast enough.
The browser will never show the 4300 or 5800 speeds. -- Latest version of CapSavvy systray usage checker: »CapSavvy v4.2 released! |

 | Thanks Guspaz for the key combination to bring up the stream manager, It shows it playing @ 3000 for me.
So I may invest in a PS3 sometime in the future. So I can try out the SuperHD.

jmckformerly 'shaded' join:2010-10-02 Ottawa, ON | an AppleTV will also do SuperHD. I'm sure there's other cheaper devices out there that will do SuperHD. |
|
 | Cool jmck, I will research further.
Thanks. |
|
 | My son is watching Tinker-Bell now, it shows 3000 on US stream (vpn). |

Keep in mind not all shows are available in SuperHD. There will be a SuperHD badge in the show listing if it is available. -- Latest version of CapSavvy systray usage checker: »CapSavvy v4.2 released! |

 | Works!

Thanks Guspaz. |

Yeah, Start has had the ability to watch Super HD for a while. All of the Apple TV's in our house show the Super HD badge on shows that offer that quality. Not easy to tell if we're streaming Super HD at the time, but it always seems like it.
Come to think of it, I don't think we've come across an HD video that wasn't available in Super HD for a while now. |
|
 | Looks like SuperHD is available on every ISP.
I tried from 2 different US VPNs
Softlayer & Atjeu, i was able to get SuperHD on both, did not try it without VPN yet. |

Well, of course it's available on every ISP, that's the whole topic of the post that started this thread. |

If you got a HTPC and want a device that can run superHD easy I say get a roku with plex on your HTPC the roku thing can do some nice stuff. |
