One Moment Please, Moto box problem

I seem to be having an issues and not sure what could cause this.

More and more channels are taking a long time to tune in when i change channels.
Many times i will get the "One Moment Please" message with a error code of S0600.

If i wait a few minutes the channel will usually final come in or maybe not.
If i change the change and try to come back to it, the box hangs for some time, until it try to tune in the channel again, and i may or may not get the "One Moment Please" message again.

This is happening on many pay channels now and seem to be getting worst. I have not seen this on the box in the other room , but i don't use that box much someone else dose so it might also be having this problem also.

What could cause this and do i need a service call or can i check some maintenance menu.

I have two splitters. One three way off the main line, and one three way in the room where the cable box is that is having the problem.
I have a Cable box, Cable Modem, and Phone modem connected to that last three way. I don't seem to have any problems with the modems so it would seem it must be the cable or connection from that three way splitter to the cable box.

Here is the info from the Cable Modem, see screen caps

Nothing wrong with your modem signal levels.. Your digital box tunes to frequencies above and below the range your modem is currently using, so you're modem may not indicate signal issue elsewhere in spectrum.

Make sure your splitters are 5 MHz-1 GHz rated. Anything else can be an issue, especially if the upper limit is below 1 GHz. Also check the connectors on each end of the line to the box with the issue. They should be compression-type connectors with the center conductor protruding about 1/8" from the threaded portion. It may be difficult to see, but there shouldn't be any scuffs or scratches on the center conductor. I've seen where a small scratch from a stripping tool cause signal issues with a small band of frequencies.

It could also be a bad port on the splitter. You could try switching the line to the box with the signal issues to another port on the splitter.

It is the channels between 100 and 400 it seems and does it on both boxes in the house.

So i will have to call in and and let the REP help me, i know there is a maintenance menu in these boxes but i don't know what to look for so i will let the charter guys figure it out. I would have to look up the key commands to call it up as i never remember them when i need to call it up.

I was experiencing a similar problem a week or so ago on 2 DCX-3501M boxes, lasting 3 or 4 days. I almost called Charter about the issue but it cleared up. Don't know if it was local plant problem or a problem at the satellite feed for our area. If I remember correctly, the channels that were having problems were all "cable" channels and not the local feeds. The main reason I didn't place a service call was that there were no other posts in this forum at the same time.

Update:
Charter Contractor came out today and is telling me the whole plant has this problem. They need more customer to call in about it to get something done about it.
He did change the splitter and connectors, but i still have the issue.

It seems it is much worst at night like 6PM to 4AM and works good during the day with only a few channels not working, but with a 100 or more channels not working at night and also VOD give errors at night it is a pain.

So it is wait and see how this is handled by Charter and hope it is corrected soon.

I'm sorry but that clearly is just so much BS. I mean the entire plant is having problems and he's telling you they need more people to call in and report a MAJOR problem with the TV service which is supposedly occurring during prime time!!

Get real. Call Charter and tell them you want the TV portion of your bill credited until it gets fixed.

Yes, but this was a contractor and he is telling me what the deal is, so i know what to expect and that i will still need to call back when it keeps happening. He has been all over town for the same problem, and he just writes up a SO each time.

Seems Charter was working on the system last night as it was out for awhile at 2am.
Will have to see how it goes.

Yeah, that explanation is hooey!

I agree with the other poster that stated to call Charter explain the issue and insist on (politely but firmly!) on a billing credit that is applied until the issue is resolved, do not settle for anything less.

Congrats to Charter, as it seem the issues has been corrected, no problem for the last two days, even VOD is working again.
