| [bug] Quoting errorsIn the past few days I can't seem to get a quote to display properly.
I'm used to:
[bquote=[user=sample user]]This is a quote![/bquote]
Shouldn't that be proper?
But lately I get something formatted like this:
said by [sample user :
]This is a quote!
Nothing I do gets it to format correctly. I thought it was me, but now that I've seen it happening to others there may be a bug.
Examples:
»Re: Real Fibre to the home
from another poster, same issue:
»Re: VMedia on The Agenda Tomorrow
Anyone else notice this? Strangely a test I posted on the test forum seemed to work fine:
»(post #28693489 no longer exists)
Thank you. |

Ah, I see (and I'm trying this quoting system with your post, which works fine). Both examples I posted were with anons.
Did it used to work with anons? I've only been seeing this lately. And shouldn't it work regardless? |
|
 tmpchaosRequiescat in paceCo-Lead Mod join:2000-04-28 Hoboken, NJ | No, because anons aren't present for the
[user=
to get a link to. To attribute a quote to an anon, use
[bquote=anonname]some text[/bquote]
which will appear as
said by anonname :some text (note that the anonname is not a clickable link).

Why doesn't the forum software format it correctly (for anonymous users) ? I ran into this today... |
|
 tmpchaosRequiescat in paceCo-Lead Mod join:2000-04-28 Hoboken, NJ | It looks like it's trying to use the standard system, and because of that, there ends up being an extra set of brackets. At least when one uses auto or quote highlighted. -- ***ATMFAQ***DIFAQ***Kitchen Sink*** |

Ran into another one today. If there's underlining used, when you try and quote it, it turns it into "...".

Edit: Hmmm, it wasn't working 3 minutes ago ! Now it is... |
