 | Juniper SRX time warner cable configuration Hi All,
I have a docsis mini pim and a srx and would like some configuration assistance. can any one help? I'm connecting to time warner cable |

 | Wish I had the docsis pim.
Do you have cm-2/0/0 configured for unit 0 family inet dhcp? So that it obtains an IP from TWC.
And do you have a policy configured for cm-2/0/0 to be the untrust interface?
And do you have your NAT policy configured to NAT your trust hosts to the cm-2/0/0 interface? |
|
 | Yea I had all those things configured and received an IP address from dhcp and it installed a default route, but no matter what I tried I couldn't ping out on to the internet including from the source address of the cm interface?
Time Warner cable refused to help. Does anyone have a complete config they wouldn't mind sharing? |
|
 | I don't have a config for SRX with docsis pim, but it really sounds like you didn't have NAT working or a policy to allow outbound traffic.
What does your config look like? What did a show route look like?
Realistically it should be no different than you connecting a stand alone cable modem to an ethernet port on the SRX and configuring that port with unit 0 family inet dhcp. cm-X/0/0 is just taking the place of the ethernet port in that scenario. |

Have you had TWC add that modem to your account? An unprovisioned modem will not be allowed internet access -- at best it'll land in a "walled garden" where you get to a selfservice portal. (note: I've never known any TWC market to do that.) What address is it being assigned? Where does a traceroute go? (etc.) |
