will the at&t website be updated to show 45Mbps in SW today?

Click for full size
will the website show the option to order 45Mbps today in the soutwest region? I noticed the website is down right for ordering maybe they are updating the database to be able to order online today?

I'm in Allen, and right now it still just shows 24Mbit as the top option.

I am in the Austin area and have checked a few addresses.
FTTN addresses are now showing the availability of the Power Tier but not FTTP addresses.

I have FTTP with 24/3 and can't upgrade, at least not yet.

How can you tell which type of fiber your address has?

how are you showing 45/6 on FTTN addresses? I just checked one in Austin and it has 24/3 as the top tier still and all that I have checked in my neighborhood have 24/3 still as the top tier for the most part. The website isn't even showing 45/6 as available in the southwest region yet on the speed comparison. I think At&t is too lazy to put it up today on which addresses can get it probably won't show until tommorow. I can get 24/3 at my address as most of my street my neighbor has an error for his address as At&t lists his address as non-serviceable for uverse while houses on both sides of him can get it and the At&t binding posts are the same for his house and the neighbor on the otherside of him.

usually by the age of the neighborhood plus if you have fiber coming to the side of your residence. I think a rule of thumb would be anything older than 7-10 years old is FTTN and 7 years or newer is FTTH for the most part. I believe that Southwestern Bell had a few FTTH home areas before they bought At&t out but it was very limited at the time it was being rolled out in new neighborhoods right before the buyout. I honestly only know of one person having FTTH and that is a family member who has a home that is less than 4 years old in a newer residential neighborhood.

Well, I went to this page.
and put in addresses i lived at before and if they had existing service i just clicked the radio button to say i would be moving to that address.

I have lived in the austin area all my life so I started with my childhood address (from the 70s) and it showed power
I put in an appt address that was FTTP and where I had uverse and it was only rated up to 18 Mbps
I put in a house I lived in last year year that I knew was FTTN and where I had u-verse and it too showed me the power tier.

My current address is still at 24/3.

Well, it still shows 24Mbit for me. If it turns out I can't get the 45, it's probably the last straw with uverse. Fios is only 2-3 miles south of me, and is offering up to 500Mbps.

what the heck is going on? I can't order power but my family can that lives across from another family member that has Max Plus as the top tier available. My entire neighborhood is capable of 24/3 for the most part and yet non of the addresses show power as available glitch or VRAD oversold?

Same reason people from the past (Almost)nationwide roll out can't get Power even though their neighbors(Like mine) can. Because AT&T has a messed up database. I'm still not eligible for Power even though the neighbors on one side of me all can and we're all on the same VRAD. I have 59.6k max rate on a single pair :/.

Even though Power launched today, there are going to be some areas in the SW region where it might take a few days up to a couple of weeks to complete some work to turn it on. That has happened in every other region so this one won't be different.

Unfortunately, people with FTTP are no to be able to order it for a little while longer. Only eligible FTTN customers (loop less than 2,200 feet) are part of the initial launch.

hmm At&t must be working on the database as about 5 minutes ago my aunt and uncle could order power now it says only 24Mbps is available as the top tier. Also noticed this on a street a couple of neighborhoods in my area about two miles away from me so At&t is likely fixing the database as we speak

Possible to get a better definition of "a little while longer"? Even ballpark would be nice, are we talking weeks? months? years?

Thanks!

It's safe to say that there almost definitely isn't a time table for that, yet. At least, not one that AT&T would be willing to make public. It's one of those "it will happen when it happens" types of things. I'd guess at weeks to months, but that's totally a guess. I live in Dallas, about 1k feet from the VRAD, I believe, and I can't get 45 yet. :/ I was pretty excited!

so if my area has 24Mbps power should be available shortly?

Not necessarily. It depends on whether or not your DA has been turned up and whether or not your line shows as qualified in the systems.

so what all does it take to be able to get 45Mbps? I noticed my entire neighborhood has 24Mbps as the highest still and most of the neighborhood can get 24Mbps. Is it something at the VRAD they have to do along with cleaning loops?

what is a DA?

It is updated for me now this morning. I logged into my account and pulled up the option to change Internet plans and the Power tier is displayed as a selectable option.

They really need to speed up deployment in Dallas! Why have a press release if you aren't going to actually provide the service to a decent amount of subscribers?

I finally placed my upgrade order today. The online order system seemed to be failing yesterday and I didn't have the time to call in and sit on hold etc. So, we'll see when they notify me of an install date. The order did clearly show the $99 install charge. In my opinion the install fee should be waived for existing customers. It is not my fault that it takes a truck roll, an additional pair, and a new RG to deliver a higher speed package and AT&T only installed me with a single pair initially.

When I ordered online (Sunday), "I" picked the install date.....you didn't have that option? The earliest was Oct. 10th.....due to things going on, I had to choose the 12th.

It never prompted me for an install date after I submitted. Now I'm wondering if the order even took in the system or not. I'll have to go back and check.

I'm glad you said something. I just went and checked. They have no record of my order in the system. The online ordering system is completely screwed up. I kept getting failure messages the other day. Today I tried and it appeared to actually work. So much for that. I guess I will end up having to call in anyway. Wish me luck.

I think I realized what I did. I got through the initial order and submitted and then got distracted by a phone call and never completed it. I just went and resubmitted and scheduled the install date for Tuesday 10/15. Now it is officially in the system.
