 | Should I switch to another provider? I am currently on the 1.5 meg (which I was forced to from the 6 meg). I have a couple of questions.
1. Does internet access from cable companies still have the congestion issue where if a lot of people are online you connection gets slower?
2. Charter says they can give me up to 50 meg down for $40 per month. What speed can I expect on average?
At this point I feel like anything is going to be better than 1.5 meg. All advice is appreciated. |

2. Would be better asked in the Charter forum; and 1. as well. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

As for #1, the potential is there, but cable networks have been sized down to help prevent it. D2 modems can be told to switch channels ("DCC") to avoid congestion. D3 modems use more than one channel at a time and shouldn't have this issue.
#2, as you say, no matter what you get, it'll be better than AT&T's 1.5M joke. |
