| [request] Limiting/Phasing out guest posts I've been noticing a lot of guest postings in many forums, while many make legitimate posts, there are also some that troll, and push topics off-topic without the benefit of user recognition. Troublemakers may be discourages as they would be required to use a normal account.
It specifically seems to be an issue in the CV forums, but the mods are doing a good job deleting pesky posts.
I personally have not had an issue with this, but I've noticed other members having issues. |

1 recommendation | We'd much rather not have to monitor anon posts at all, but we do eyeball many of them. We also (as moderators) rely on our fellow users to point us to problem posts, because we obviously can't see them all. That's why the hey mods system exists. -- ***ATMFAQ***DIFAQ***Kitchen Sink*** |

Oh believe me I'm aware that a ton are legitimate posts. But is it worth the grief of allowing all posts? |

1 recommendation | Yes, I believe it is worth the minimal grief, because many of those individuals offer constructive information and comments. Poor post, trolling, etc are not confined to anon posts. |
|

1 recommendation | That is very true, not just anon's offer useless posts, why can't the anon's who post constructive information register and be a more recognizable member of the forum. |

Anyone can feel free to "Ignore All Anon Posts" at any time they like by going to »/profile/0. |
|
 | Indeed, you can ignore all anon posts, however then you get anon's answering questions and ranting when the person who has them on "ignore all" doesn't acknowledge that they had "said that all along". That's just what I've observed. |

1 recommendation | I think you spend too much time paying attention to things you "have not had an issue with". Anonymous posting isn't going away, nor should it. (There was a time here when any "request" to eliminate it would already have been either deleted or locked.) Trolls will be trolls whether they register or don't. "Ignore" isn't only a forum function; it's also an attitude regarding that which wastes one's time. |
