same number different magicjack device? (see details pleas)
I bought a magicjack device and had my home number ported to magicjack. now, i have lost my magicjack device. This number is one i had for 30 years, so it is special to me. Also, the bill is paid up til may 2014, if it is relevant.
Well, I bought a magicjack prior to this one, and it has a different number, and there are a few months of service left on it as well. I wonder, can I use my other magicjack number with this one without having to have it ported to it? in other words, can i plug this magicjack into my computer and phone, and then sign into my other magicjack account, and when someone calls my other number it will ring my phone?
thanks. i hope i said it well enough, but if it is too confusing, i will try to explain better. thanks.
If both devices are on the same account, you should see them both in the device list when logged in at my.magicjack.com. That means your old number would be connected to the old device and the new number would be connected to the new device. If both devices are still active, all you have to do is switch phone numbers for the devices in the adminstrative area. The change should be immediate, and there would be no charge.
If you have two different magicJack accounts under separate email addresses, there's not much you can do online, but you might get some help from magicJack chat support to merge the accounts. Again, I don't know if that's possible.
Here's hoping your new device shows up again. If you suspect foul play, try calling it and see who answers.
