[Cable] Erratic Speeds in Waterloo

I'm sharing a 25/10 Unlimited connection with 2 others (primarily web surfing/video streaming).

My download/upload speeds seem to be erratic and I'm confident that its not because of them as my network activity shows no one is using the bandwidth when I'm doing a speedtest.

It can range anywhere from 1.0 Mbps to 27.8Mbps for downstream and 1.0 - 9.2 Mbps for upstream. Is it because of prioritization? For the first week and a half I downloaded a considerable amount of games/episodes (10-20GB/day) although I usually do it after 12am, sometimes in the afternoon too. However, even when a new day starts and I haven't downloaded or uploaded, the speeds seem to be considerably slow (3.0Mbps) after the "softcap" gets reset daily.

No there is no priortization happening tonight. Try the steps in the FAQ and use start.speedtest.net

Erratic uploads sounds like it's being used though.

Use start.speedtest.net

The kitchener speedtest hosts are unreliable. I get varying, awful results using them that are well below real world download speeds. Using a reliable host (like start.speedtest.net) I get the advertised speed.
