DND abandoned Nortel campus because of listening devices?

quote:
The Department of National Defence will have to decide whether it is still worth the risk to move into the former Nortel campus after the discovery of listening devices at the facility, say security analysts.

The DND is not releasing details about where exactly the electronic eavesdropping devices were found or whether they were left over from an industrial espionage operation when Nortel occupied the complex in Ottawa’s west end.

Nortel was the target of a number of spy and computer hacking operations, with the main culprits suspected of being associated with China.

Is China listening in at every company since the dawn of time? Really no surprise here.

The NSA don't even rank in the Chinese world, the NSA might know who you talk to, but the Chinese know what you said.

I wouldn't worry about the bugs they found... I'd be more worried about the bugs they DIDN'T find... from
the FSB... the GCHQ... the DGI... the DGSE... the BND... the MOIS... the Mossad... ad infinite nauseaum.

Regards

Fair question as to who all is doing the nasty, but what I'm interested in is what role (if any) did this spying play in Nortel's downfall (and could your company/job be next)?
