[ONT] Hard Re-set I-211M-K ONT

How does one do a hard re-set on a I-211M-K ont?
From what I see I think it would be to pull out the round cable that goes to the battery backup. Is this correct?
Thanks

I'm not sure about the spcific models but I'm pretty sure mine is hardwired to the BBU. Typically the process is to disconnect the battery and unplug the BBU which should work for any model.

I seen a video on youtube on how to rest but it was a different ont model. It had a green plug.
Something I find strange with my install is..., They installed the I-211M-K Desktop model in a box OUTSIDE my house. The box is very large. They then install the BBU inside my house.

You should perform the reset from the BBU/PS unit by disconnecting the power cord and the battery at the same time .

This procedure should be used on all single family unit ONTs

Do not pull the power cord from the desktop unit inside the enclosure, as it has pins inside it that can be easily damaged if not lined up just right.

the green plug you speak of on the earlier Alcatel models is not in the customer side of the ONT

The big box is probably the environmental box for the ONT, because that version is an desktop model . The reason they put the battery inside (BBU) is because SLA batteries do not do well under temperature changes and cold in the winter time. Tech could explain why they put it outside, but I know leaving it exposed lots of people don't know how to work w/ fibre so maybe there were lots of tech calls.

Why do you want to do a hard reset? If there is an issue Verizon can reboot it remotely. I've never had to reset mine in 3 years, and the two service times, Verizon reboot remotely.

Also if it's in an outdoor box, technically this is owned by Verizon and you shouldn't be opening it up AT ALL.

If you mess up plugging/unplugging the BBU they could charge you if you damage the equipment. Will they, probably not but why take the chance...

Even in mine (moto) there is a service provider panel and a consumer panel. I can reset mine by holding the battery button for 10 seconds if I recall.

Because it's a lot easier to push a button or u-plug a connector then get a person at verizon.
