| [PvE] Warlock Fel Fire Quest Hey everyone! These past couple days, I've become interested in attempting to obtain the Warlock green fire quest starter on the Isle of Thunder. I've killed approximately 12 Rares and countless Saurok, Zandalari, Mogu, etc. mobs around the isle but the Xerrath tome (or however you spell it) hasn't dropped at all.
Is there a certain area on the isle that might have a higher chance to drop this item by chance. Do only the Rares on the isle drop this item?
Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. -- Seckspanther (Resto/Feral Druid)- PnE Ravencrest (Alliance)

 | I did this back in March, but I remember that only rares drop the tome. You may find it for a reduced rate on the AH as well since most locks have already done the quest by now. |

It took me a while to get it drop. It's just from rares, and as the island is pretty dead you'll have a pretty good monopoly on them and they are mostly soloable with your blueberry.
The final boss is also very very hard. I've not tried in months but it requires almost perfect timing in getting adds down, positioning your demon and using defensive cooldowns. I've not yet done it. |

Alright. Thanks for the heads up on the who/what drops the item. Also, I thought it was soulbound but nice to hear it can be sold/traded on the AH. I'll look at that then too. -- Seckspanther (Resto/Feral Druid)- PnE Ravencrest (Alliance)

Yeah, I haven't had any problem with the rares thus far. I'm running around with Grimoire of Supremacy and Kil'jaedens Cunning so better blueberry and move around while casting Incerate....oh yeah, i'm destro too. (taking off 300k HP from one Chaos Bolt is nice. -- Seckspanther (Resto/Feral Druid)- PnE Ravencrest (Alliance)

| Others are correct. Rares only. I haven't completed the quest either for many reasons. One being that mofo is a pain in the ass. All your timing has to be perfect. If you mess up by even a second, you die. I tried it as aff and destro. I don't think it can be done going aff. I mean, I'm sure you can but it would def be harder. GL! |

 | When you charge him, he takes higher damage for a bit. You can pre-cast a Chaos bolt then charge him just before it fires, to get 2 x chaos bolts which do 1m+ dmg.
The imp phase isn't too hard, but the Felhunters I struggle with, and am too busy dealing with them that I mess up the defensive cooldown for his nuke. On the odd times I don't, the Felhunters make there way back to the demon and devour the Enslave Demon spell and I go to pot.
I'm going it with int pots, and the potion which resets the 7min soft wipe. |

Just so you know, The final boss encounter is probably the most rewarding boss kill that I have ever had. I completed it when I was 480 ilvl, so each and every mechanic had to followed precisely to get the kill. Very fun and challenging fight. |
|
 | Yea, took me about 30-40 tries at 490 ilvl. I knew the fight perfectly, it just came down to executing the mechanics so many times that they became muscle memory. The final fight when I downed him went by so fast that I was surprised when it was finally over. Most rewarding experience in WoW to date. |

I'm looking forward to it. Currently, i'm ilvl 508 with some 522s and LFR gear. I've watched a few youtube vids of how to do it.
Now I just need to get the damned tome to drop so I can start actually doing the quest. (4 straight nights of about 1.5-2 hours each time trying to farm for it). -- Seckspanther (Resto/Feral Druid)- PnE Ravencrest (Alliance)

Yeah it's irritating. A friend who can't decide on which toon to play was using his warlock when 5.2 hit and got it on his first kill, then proceeded to rub my face in it at any given opportunity as it took me a good week of rare farming with the pack to get mine. The killer? His ilevel was never going to be good enough for the final fight and he had no desire to step foot into ToT on even LFR difficulty.
I honestly thought I would stomp all over him, as I am a decent player and my ilevel was max 5.1 LFR. However I seriously underestimated him. ilevel really isn't anything, it's all about timings and being aware of positioning and the flow of the fight. One tiny screwup (and there are so many of these easily done) and it's game over. Slightly higher DPS will mean you clear phases quicker giving more time on the boss but as Suniojii proved, it's do-able at low levels with perfect execution.
As a side point, the strat I used (and never suceeded with) involved extensive use of the Gateway. This has since been nerfed, so I assume the fight is harder now? |

| Dang man! I've been scouring the AH for the past couple days too and it's never on there. No doubt if it does show up it'll likely be outrageously priced as my horde server is pretty dead (i.e. Artful Vermillion gem = 630g/ each) -- Seckspanther (Resto/Feral Druid)- PnE Ravencrest (Alliance)

My server is dead too but the gems are fairly cheap as there is no one about to buy the quantities produced. If I put red gems up at 200g, someone will undercut me, and neither will sell. |

Our server is dead also. And that is how I got a decent price. This guy was hawking it on trade for 4k. After talking with him, he told me he had been trying to sell it on the AH but it was too dead (and this was just about a month ago also so most locks had already done it). Once he said that, I knew I was going to get a deal -- Absolution -- MSV: 6/6 0/6H -- HoF: 4/6 -- ToES: 4/4 -- ToT: 12/12 -- SoO: 6/14F 8/14 Pride and Ego -- MSV: 6/6 1/6H -- HoF: 6/6 -- ToES: 4/4 -- ToT: 11/12 -- SoO: 3/14F */14 |

Pets too are cheap, as people get them and have no one to sell them too.
The people left are the solo players, so people with alts and professions who spend a lot of time grinding as it's the only thing they have to do. The demand for things are low however, as very few people need gems/enchants etc when they can either make themselves or only getting 1 upgrade per slot per tier.
If we had raiders then it would be a different story. |

I read that as "Sometimes when I play WoW on my server, I just want to do my own thing, but there's just too many people on my server to get any peace." (r/firstworldproblems) -- Seckspanther (Resto/Feral Druid)- PnE Ravencrest (Alliance) Noflesh (Destruction Warlock) - Durotan (Horde) |
