| All backed up on that old system...nothing else on it, won't even take rest of Windows updates.. Since machine so old though, not sure if I will get a replacement hard drive for it yet or not, will look over budget and decide which is best, might be best just to save for a Microsoft Surface RT Tablet at this point, Most of the time on the Desktop, only time I use laptop is if power is out, or if I wanna surf or watch videos before I fall to sleep, I guess based on my needs, don't really need a laptop these days |

Woah, 262K reallocated sectors in 3 reallocation events? That's massive failures. The CRC errors are troubling though but since you don't have a "before" shot, it's hard to say. Assuming you put another drive in there, keep an eye on the CRC counter to make sure it doesn't register any on the new drive as well. If it does, you could have cable/controller issues which given it's a laptop and doesn't have a cable or controller you can likely replace, it probably means it's time for a new laptop.
Given your stated use of the machine, I'd say a tablet may be your best bet. I have both and both a tablet and laptop and the laptop gets more use surfing in bed before going to sleep but the tablet gets similar general use when I don't feel like getting out the laptop. |

 | I suppose I could try another drive I think I got one in another dead laptop (died from power issues) sitting around inside it, I suppose I could try that one...got really nothing to lose at this point..... |

|
 | Will do a before shot soon as I have replacement drive in, and working, and will determine if just the Drive or the Cable/Controller |

The drive you have in there now is most certainly dead but the CRC errors could be drive or host (host being cable/controller) related. Your spare drive may even already have CRC errors showing on it so don't take that as an indication it's the laptop. Instead just keep an eye on it and see if it increases. |

2 edits | Replacement hard drive in, and here is first HD Tune Health status even with this hard drive installed--laptop still running slow and freezing, so doesn't seem like it's healthy at all Laptop still very slow, but seems to be updating properly with this drive installed now, whether it's gonna speed up any I don't know |
