X2 on/off switch (Exit held until live displays, then 9292) still works. -- - Bill |

Is anyone here who knows how to interpret any part of the name (like the "sd" at the end)? -- - Bill |

Today I updated all three of my boxes (2 DVR's and a companion). All 3 completed the process but only the main dvr showed the new Server number (old one was 4816). Does this matter? |

Some folks here may share their experience of what they notice. -- - Bill |

According to a post today by Ted Hodgins, in the new X1 area on the Comcast Support forum (» forums.comcast.com/t5/X1/bd-p/X1), the possibility of supplying an X1 version history and a change log is being looked into: From: » forums.comcast.com/t5/X1/X1-DVR/···5235#M73 quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TiredRetired wrote: : Thank you for the added info. Is there still a plan to set up a Version History and bug fix log that many of us from the old thread have been asking for? At one time it was stated that a web site or such was in the works for this. : --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let me check on the version history and fix log possibility.

 | I updated my anyroom DVR last night and it seemed like a substantial update...It took a while and went all the way to 99 on the box before rebooting
However it still says I'm on the 4816 build that was last updated in September...Any ideas? |

1 recommendation | Falcor- An important thing to remember is that there are 2 separate code builds that will be mentioned.
1 is the STB Firmware. Some of us have begun seeing the 1.3s6 build pushed out to the DVR's with a 9/11 date.
The other is the XRE Server Build. This is the "cloud software" that our STB's interact with. Some have seen the 4827 build on some of their boxes (I only have it on 1 HD box) while others are on 4816.
Sounds like you definitely got the STB update - as that's when the front of the box will count up to 100 (as in, 100% downloaded). -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!" |
|
 | I got the updates but only one of the boxes has the XRE server build of 4827...the other boxes are still at 4816...i'm thinking maybe only 1 boxes needs the server update. On this box, however, I've noticed that the settings screen is a tad different. On the screen where you can manually update there is now a gauge for the remaining battery level for your remote. A little battery icon is there...mine is 5% with new batteries now... |
|
 | I'm still a little confused....I updated all my boxes...two are showing the 4827 build and the other two which includes the DVR are showing the 4816 build still
The ones showing 4816 build obviously didn't update because in the 4827 build when you scroll to the about tab it says made with love in Philadelphia now, but the 4816 boxes don't show this...When I click update on the 4816 boxes it says they are up to date
WTF? |
|
 | i have the same results.. just in case. did your installer/tech say u had weak signal in your line? and installed an amp? |
|
 | reply to bgoodbody
i did the update. but it still shows 4816 and server version is 31p10.
while the box was updating it paused at 99 and i waited several minutes. and nothing happen. so i unplug the box. when i rebooted. i did the update again and it went to 99 and restarted itself. |
|
 | theisonews...yes on both counts
it paused on 99 for about 3-4 minutes at least but eventually rebooted itself and went through the normal post update process though
The tech installed something that connects to a coax in the room where all the coax feeds generate from in my condo...and then the other end plugs into an outlet..Except theres no outlets in that room so he ran it to my hallway which looks terrible so I was debating taking it out or not. It was there pre X1. |
|
 | then its confirmed that you and i have a week signal and cause of it, we can't get the update. |
|
JeepMattC'mon the UPremium join:2001-12-28 Wilmington, DE kudos:2 | Iso- Your signal has nothing to do with getting the update. Comcast is obviously staggering which boxes receive it versus others. -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!" |
|
 | then i theorize, people who have the x1 for a period of time get the update. i only had the x1 for 1 month |
|
 | Same here. The DVR box that recieved the update went through no problem...but the DVR box that didn't stopped at 99 for 3 - 5 minutes then rebooted. Is it possible that only 1 box per household gets it? Seems strange. All boxes now say "no update neccessary" when trying to update. |
|
 | maybe if you have anyroom x1 dvr service it only downloads to the dvr that is the default anyroom dvr |
|
 | reply to tomrainking
Just got X1 installed Monday, and today checked versions. All are 4816 with the exception of one which is now 4827 after loading update. Rechecked the others and they still say 4816 is current?? |
|
 | To reiterate...I have two companion boxes showing 4827, the other one plus the DVR are showing 4816 with no update available....Saying only 1 box in the house gets an update is pretty ridiculous, no offense...it's obviously just another problem on Comcasts end with this beta X1 software they sprung on the public. |
