 | [HSI] Internet disconnects almost everyday Hi, The charter internet connection at my friend's house is not very stable. The internet connection disconnects almost everyday for a few times but each time is only down for around 2-3 minutes. She called charter tech to come to check, and we tried to swap for new modems at charter office (from cisco to another cisco then to motorola) and no problem has been found. I am pretty sure the problem is not her own router because the lights on the charter modem are blinking when the internet is out. Does anyone know what I can do to solve this problem? Would that be the problem of the charter node? Her house is located at Monterey Park, CA |

 | Probably a signal level issue, caused by any number of reasons. But, that's pure speculation without more info.
You can access the modem's diagnostics via the following link on a computer that's connected to the modem (directly or through a router but direct is much less problematic):

Your upstream level is just out of spec. Downstream is acceptable, but on the low side. Get a service call. |
