[Content] Loss of Channels

Part of the selling point to getting Comcast's triple play involved the "free" small box that enabled me to use cable on a 2nd set in my BR. I didn't want the extra box and remote but was finally sold on trying it.
This was two years ago and during this time:
- A charge began appearing ($1.99) for use of the previously free box
- Last week I realized that I lost the upper channels even with the $1.99 box.

when I contacted Comcast I was informed that I was never supposed to get those channels -- that it was glitch (2 years mind you) -- and once they determined the glitch, they corrected it (just never notified me of glitch or correction). This, sadly, has been my experience (half truths, surprises, sales games, but, great channels, super fast internet, good phone). Thinking it time to try other waters and will begin by returning the $1.99 box and remote as it really serves no real purpose now.

There are different Triple Play packages being sold.

What does your bill say for the TV portion?

I have HD Preferred Plus XF. In my area there is Digital Starter that is just below my package and above it is Digital Premier.

And they just started charging the 1.99 for each of the small DTA's this Fall.

As documented on this message board, you probably should try contacting Comcast a few more times.

Apparently, the "offers" or "responses" you receive are dependent upon the person you happen to be talking to.

Maybe the offer or response you receive is dependent upon the Comcast representative trying to meet some manner of monthly goal. If that is the case, then keep calling until you find a rep who needs that last new contract to meet the monthly quota.....
