cjskiThe Wheel Weaves As The Wheel WillPremium join:2001-01-04 Sun City, CA | Broken blower wheel (gas dryer) It took 3 different blower wheels from AppliancePros to finally get a wheel that wasn't broken. But now, after putting the dryer back together, that wheel is broken also. So here's one of the wheels they originally sent me...looks fine from the front/inside...
But 2 small breaks at the outer vanes...

I don't want, or have the time, to go through ordering another blower wheel. Can I make this one work? Either by cutting the vanes on the opposite side to 'balance' the wheel, or gluing the 2 broken vanes back on? Out of those 2 choices, which would you consider? |

Does it vibrate if you run it with the broken part? Depending on the weight, the rpm and how its balanced it might not be a big issue. |

I'd glue the broken pieces back on, but not on the ends where they broke off from. They will probably break back off pretty quickly because of the small surface area for the glue. They are however the perfect weight to keep the wheel balanced. I'd cover one entire side of each broken piece with some epoxy and stack them on each broken fin. |

you'd have to make some calls, but someone with an ultrasonic plastic welder can make it like new.. it was probably broken during shipping, by one of those guys that likes to throw the boxes into the truck.. |

Hey! Now that's thinking outside the box! |
