| [Electrical] Sparkies : Correct wire size for Heating unit ? I am planning to install a 1000W linear convector: (»www.homedepot.ca/product/1000w-l···e/963211)
With a simple thermostat to go along : (»www.homedepot.ca/product/aube-no···t/977130)
My question for the sparkies : Is 14-2 wire going to work with this convector ? Will it be safe ? (Am asking the question, because i pre-wired with 14-2 romex (the wire is red) a couple of years ago while renovating and dont want to reopen up the walls...regret not running 12-2). The wires have been run for 5 years now, but never connected, as the room was an office, and now is becoming a bedroom (that needs more heat - for a newborn). Planning on installing a double 15 amp (240) square-d breaker for it. Nothing else would run on the wire. Run is about 60 feet from thermostat to panel.
Awaiting your input please sparkies |

Standard "You can't do your own electrical legally in Qc" disclaimer goes here...
Make sure you get the right breaker for your panel - Square D has a few different styles... If you take the model number of your panel, they should be able to tell you what you need (most likely a QO type breaker, I'd guess...) |
