[Networking] forwarding to non-standard ports MI424WR v.40.20.7

I recently received and set up a new Actiontec MI424WR-GEN3I from Verizon, running firmware version 40.20.7.

Previously, I've been using a D-Link router on which I'd set up some port forwarding to non-standard ports (which was referred to as a Virtual Server in the D-link router interface). Basically, I'd noticed some malicious attempts to SSH into my Mac in the system logs because I'd had port 22 open. So I set it up so that I could SSH to a port like 1155 and that traffic would be forwarded to port 22 and then to my Mac.

I haven't been able to figure out how to do this on the Actiontec. I've tried going to Port Forwarding and switching to Advanced Settings, setting the Protocal to Both, the Source Port to the non-standard port and the Destination port to 22.

I've also looked under Advanced settings > Port Forwarding Rules and tried editing the SSH rules and setting the Source Port to my non-standard port number, but no dice.

And everything I've tried has been with the Firewall setting set to Minimum Security. Anyone have any suggestions on what else I can try? Thanks much!

[Networking] Re: forwarding to non-standard ports MI424WR v.40.2

said by mrkite :

the Source Port to the non-standard port

Source port must be ANY.
Destination (outside) port is the port that you want external users to connect to (1155).
"Port to forward to" is the port on the target machine (22).
