quote:In retrospect, it seems crazy that we ever believed in the Logan's Run remake with Nicolas Winding Refn directing and Ryan Gosling starring.
It would be nice to see an updated version of that film and Soylant Green. But I think Political Correctness would ruin those films. -- Is a person a failure for doing nothing? Or is he a failure for trying, and not succeeding at what he is attempting to do? What did you fail at today?.
Yes the PC'ers would wreck them. Just the same, they'd end up wrecking a classic.
The whole premise behind Solyent Green was when (for those that haven't seen it) Soylent green was people since we already know the ending what's the point?
If you're going to redo a movie, lets redo Omega Man. -- No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake.......
quote:The novel was a success and was adapted to film as The Last Man on Earth in 1964, as The Omega Man in 1971, and as I Am Legend in 2007, along with a direct-to-video 2007 production capitalizing on that film, I Am Omega. The novel was also the inspiration behind the 1968 film Night of the Living Dead.
I've never seen the ending to "Last man on Earth", but I have seen "Omega man" several times. I wonder if they could do a version that follows the book alot more closely. For example those that have nevre read the book Planet of the Apes, fail to realize how close the ending of Tim Burton's version of Planets of the Apes was to the book. A lot closer then any of the other Ape movies. Granted the book was more social commentary, and not as exciting as the original Planet of the Apes movies .
