Re: [NFL] Week 5 NFL Games Discussion

What a game so far. 41-41. Win or lose the boys played with heart.

OMG. I have both Brady and Romo in one of my fantasy leagues -- and to think I actually sat Romo on my bench and played Brady. Nah, I didn't need those 500 yards, 5 touchdowns, or 43 fantasy points. Thanks karma, that bitch slap pudding you served up today was mighty tasty.

It sure looks like 48-48 to me.

Dallas played way above what most analysts gave them credit for. They lose, but put up a hell of a fight. Peyton Manning is just an absolutely amazing QB.

I'm sure everyone will be bashing Romo. The boys stayed in a game they had no chance of winning according to the media.

Houston, we have a problem...

Schaub looks like he is doing his best impression of *insert any of multitude of past futile Bears QBs* -- it just looks really bad tonight against the Niners

A QB that throws for 500 yards, has 5 TDS and plays 58 mins of mistake free football ought to win the game. The last 2 minutes Romo reverted to form and they lose.
Jerry Jones says "It was a moral victory, for us". There are no moral victories in Football.
It was more like an Arena League game.

But that's Romo's MO. He always seems to find a way to screw up in the last 2 minutes of the half or game.

So the defense giving up 51 points and having no running game whatsoever didn't figure into the outcome.

Clearly not. I mean, its Manning & the Broncos. There is no defense...

You normally win the games you score 48 in... Then there are the Broncos

Anybody watching this Jets game?
If you're a Jets fan, it's a pretty good game.

The Atlanta picks over on the Suicide poll aren't looking that good :P

The Jets could pretty easily have a 14 point higher advantage than they do, based on the results of the 1st 2 Falcon drivers of the game (1 DEF TD that should have happened on ATL drive 1, 1 ATL TD that should not have happened on ATL drive 2)

Walk Off FG is good

I like watching the Dirty Birds lose in the GA Dome -- Da Bears lost too many games there in recent memory, generally in the same fashion that the Jets just beat ATL - end of game craziness

I like games that go down to the wire like that, and that the team I was rooting for won at the end was icing on the cake.

I wonder if Gonzalez regrets returning for another year now. At 1-4 they're pretty much done. Maybe a shot at the wild card if they are lucky.

Sure it does, but all Romo had to do was eat the clock, and get a first down or two to help run the clock. But in true Romo fashion, he blew it. 500 yards what? All people will remember is the choke.

With a 14 point lead in the 1st quarter I don't know why the Boys didn't run the ball. But, then again 14 points is not safe with Manning plus the running game wasn't doing great.
At the end if Romo tried to milk the clock and didn't make a 1st down they would have lost.
Reminds of the Indy vs New England a few years ago. With 2 minutes or thereabouts to go NE went for 4th down and 2 (?). It failed and Indy won. Bellichick paid Manning the ultimate compliment. Any time left on the clock is not safe against Manning.

I'm shocked the Falcon's made the game so close. Going for it on 4th so many times they should have lost horribly.

The Boys didn't run the ball because they don't have anybody to run the ball with.
