[Network] Comtrend 5600u port forwarding

At my small business I currently have 10/2 DSL speed and a Comtrend 5600u modem set to bridged mode. The problem I'm having is that the modem keeps freezing. Typically if the DSL connection drops, my server will reset the connections but it's not working. I've tried to manually reset the connection from my server (running Centos 6.3) but it won't work unless I reboot the modem - then the connection will reset.

In an effort to make sure the problem is the modem and not my server I wanted to try using the modem in regular mode. When I do this I'm able to get internet access with the various internal computers, but my Centos computer also runs some small web sites and I'm not able to get to them from the outside using this method.

I'm assuming this has to do with port forwarding. I've tried to set it up several times, with no luck. Here's more information - My server has two network cards; Ethernet 0 is connected to the internal network and its IP address is 192.168.0.1. Ethernet 1 is connected to the DSL modem and it receives its IP dynamically in the 192.168.1.0 network if I remember correctly.

Any help?

Thanks,

Curt

We apologize for the troubles you are having. Please check that your firmware on the NL-5600u is: K611-406WST-C03_R01_0103-1.A2pbC030d4.d24
We do have instructions written for Port Forwarding on that Comtrend we can email them to you. Please provide your email address.
Thanks,

My firmware version is different...
K611-406WST-C02_R03_0526-1.A2pbC030d4.d23c

Also, while still in bridged mode, the modem froze two more times in less than an hour. I then reset the modem to factory settings. After getting everything up and running, it's frozen two more times. Each time requires a reboot of the modem.

Also, since my original post I've signed up for an account here at dslreports.com.

Thanks,

Curt

Hello, need your dsl phone number, we can then try to apply the new firmware if the modem allows us to connect to it.

curt, I removed your phone number and will send it on to Windstream See Profile.

It is not a good idea to post your phone number on a public board like this.

Curt, I am checking on how to get that new firmware to you. It is not available in our usual update process. So I have contacted the Analyst on this.

Ok, will do.

Can you send me instructions for port forwarding for this modem?

Thanks,

Curt
