Optimus2357Premium join:2010-11-21 West Warwick, RI kudos:3 | Netgear CG4500BD Anyone have one of the new Netgear gateway? I heard so many horrible things about the CG3000D I am wondering if this could be a replacement. Looks like D3 24/8 with VOIP, Wifi-N (possibly later AC) and MoCA. What I am interested is the firmware. How are the features?

CoxTech1VIP join:2002-04-25 Chesapeake, VA kudos:75 | Netgear gateway modems aren't supposed to be available retail. On our end I think the final details such as cost are being worked out. This will be available as a high end home networking option for those customers needing a higher performance device as well as dual band wireless. |

So much of performance comes down to the firmware though. Usually Netgear offers the base firmware to ISP and then charge extra for things you would think would be standard, like HTTPS for remote access. Will just wait and see I guess. Thanks.
::Edit:: I tried to look up the FCC ID for details, but looks like the FCC is...closed. ::blink:: Hmm, that's a first.
