[ALL] Changing email password changes cox.com password?

I changed my email password and it changed the password for acct. management on cox.com also. I want seperate passwords for acct. management and my email acct., how do I do that?

Thanks,
BGC

Your cox.com account is tied to your email identity so they cannot be separated. This would be an ideal case for creating a child email account to use separately for email purposes.

I do that already, but still get occasional emails on the main account. I used it for a while way back before having the same thought you did. Still, you should be able to change each of those passwords separately.

Thanks,

I disagree. I think having separate passwords for these two things would be a inconvenience. Maybe just forward the email from the main account to the child account. Or you could use a vacation message.

You should have been on the phones with me answering all those calls from people that couldn't understand why just be cause they had an email address and password they couldn't sign into their account because it was a different account :/ Consolidating the billing and email account access overall made things much easier but obviously there are a few that preferred it the other way. One option that addresses the situation you described would be to setup a forward rule to send all emails to a different address if you want to use the primary just for account access.
