Re: Faster sync Now this is nice. Optik 25.

jtl999CEO of Team Classified join:2012-11-24 | OHMYGOD. Might need loop bonding though. What I've read from other users near me they get sync rates above that. I can't wait to ditch Shaw. |
zajacz join:2002-09-21 Calgary, AB kudos:1 | I am loop bonded and my sync rates are 74684Kbps down and 12279Kbps up. |

for optik 25 that looks like an amazing connection for the price, zajacz also looks very nice for being loop bonded, i havnt seen to many bonded connections with local pings as low as 10ms, i hope eventually i can get these telus services if my shaw node ever gets congested, even though it probably never will. -- Shaw Broadband 100/5 - Cisco DPC3825 - Asus RT-AC66U |

 | Is the faster sync only happening for Optik TV users? I don't have TV and I'm still synced at 31/3 (Internet 25). Would love to get the faster upload. |
Nas1 join:2011-10-05 Camrose, AB | I think it might have to do with what values you can safely sync at while maintaining a stable line. I'm synced at 33304 on the d/l and 5119 on the up and I'm receiving close to 5Mbps on my upload tests now. I'm also on telus 25 with no tv. Good on telus for letting the subscriber take advantage of higher sync rates ( upload anyhow as my d/l speed is still the same). |

I'm on regular Internet 25 and my sync speeds recently went from 28/3 to 33/5. I've gone from a maximum upload of about 330 Kilobytes/s to well over 500. This is with an ALU 7130 with the modified firmware. |
 | My upload and download speeds haven't changed. Is this only for 25mbps or faster speeds? |
Nas1 join:2011-10-05 Camrose, AB | What plan are you on Tornado? 15Mbps? |
 | I'm on Optik High Speed (15mbps). Here is my speedtest: |

I'm on Optik High Speed as well. (15 mbps) |
 | What? How did you get such amazing upload? |
jtl999CEO of Team Classified join:2012-11-24 | Did you unplug your modem for 30 seconds then plug it back in? |
 | Yup. No difference. |
jtl999CEO of Team Classified join:2012-11-24 | Hmmm. Must be deployed on a area basis or line conditions. I honestly don't know. |

Which modem do you have? You'll need a VDSL modem and connection to get >1 Mb/s uploads. |
jtl999CEO of Team Classified join:2012-11-24 | I think he mentioned somewhere awhile back he had a VDSL modem. |

I have an Actiontec V1000H I also have a fiber to the home connection. |
jtl999CEO of Team Classified join:2012-11-24 | Ahhh. That must be why. Why do you use the V1000H in the first place you lucky |
 | The V1000H isn't capable of providing faster upload speeds? |
jtl999CEO of Team Classified join:2012-11-24 | It is. I meant things might be different because you are on a FTTH connection. They do speeds differently on them. One guy from Vancouver had Optik 50 over FTTH and in one test get almost 200 down and 30 up. |

nah, telus is probably just testing upgraded upload for dsl primarily, lets say there testing for stability or something, they probably already know your connection can support it, so they arent bothering testing with you, thats my best guess
nvm cause the guy who is getting 15/5 looks like hes on fiber to.. hmmm -- Shaw Broadband 100/5 - Cisco DPC3825 - Asus RT-AC66U |

Darthan, is your connection over fibre or did you mean you have optic tv with your internet? |

Hmmmm 15/5 Where have I heard this before. Oh wait FiOS.

 | reply to Nas1
No fiber. I have optik +internet 15... |
 | So that means Connor M is probably right. They might only be testing for DSL users. I'd love to see this roll out for Fiber users, though.
By the way, considering you don't have fiber, that ping is awesome! |

if you dont have fiber then that 0 ping is probably due to you testing your speeds via wireless and speedtest.net making an error, i have had it happen before, ps you can still have ftth with optik+ internet 15, but you probably have adsl2+ since you have the 15, damn i wonder if i switched back to telus i could get that upload -- Shaw Broadband 100/5 - Cisco DPC3825 - Asus RT-AC66U |

I wouldn't worry too much about it honestly, it's been hinted before on this forum that specific packages only available to fiber users is coming. When that is who knows, could probably expect something close to bell or Rogers ftth plans. Hell even sasktel has a pretty nice ftth plan out now. |
