Wire length matters, regardless if it's from the CO or a remote terminal. -- ♬ Dragon of good fortune struggles with the trickster Fox ♬ |

Heck I guess its coming from down in parkersburg (lol) so actually 40 miles or so instead of 2-3 miles.
I doubt that the service would be poor. My grandmother lives .8 mile from my place and she's already had frontier for a long time now and she's got very decent speeds of 10 - 15Mbps.
By the way, it does not matter how far you are from the office but it DOES matter how far you are from a sub station. A sub station helps strength the condition in the speed and connection.. and yes "connection strength" and "speeds" are different, i'm a 8 year old satellite user so i should know (can connect perfectly with a chat client program but cannot load a single website) -- HT1000/ BeamID 32/ Power Max plan/ 4 pcs on a D-Link wired switch/ wireless D-Link router with password

yes but it depends on the route of the wires and how your area is wired. Like here at one point I could only get 768 down and had to fight for 1.5 (yes this was 10 years ago) because even though I was only 2 miles from office by route of the cable I was 4 miles away. |

I emailed tammi (technician from parkersburg) and she replied back just a few minutes after i sent the email yesterday and she said she will be looking into it.
I'v been keeping up-to-date on frontiers activity as far as doing routine checkups in my area. Just a bit ago one came up my road and past my place (i guess he was checking up on the next sub station thats out from the one i'm living next to so i wait a bit and then he cames back down past my house and then checks on the sub station near my place for a quick second and then leaves, doesn't even get out.. Everyday this week frontier has came up through my road, some will sit along the side of my road next to the house and i believe that they were doing survey work at that moment but not sure.
I don't think i'm "too far" out.. It's coming from sistersville town witch is 2-3 miles from my house.
Hopefully something good will happen. Since they have fiber pulled this far, they should branch it out to everyone nearby but i don't think everyone will get it since they are just too far.
We'll see.. Time will tell. -- HT1000/ BeamID 32/ Power Max plan/ 4 pcs on a D-Link wired switch/ wireless D-Link router with password

Re: Frontier not coming or? depends on how many people are in your area. They might have to install an dsl station near you or you might be too far from the central office for dsl. |

Best way to find out is to contact, by telephone as well as e-mail, your areas regional manager. »www.frontier.com/customerservice···contacts
Ask whomever when the upgrade / build-out will be completed and when you can expect to see service offered in your area. |

| Frontier not comming or? Long time ago (last year or maybe year before) a frontier technician came to our front door telling us it's on the way but will need to replace some lines, upgrade the bridge server at the sub station and he went on to say he guessed it would be here within 9 months or so.. Nine months has been well-over-with and still nothing nor any word. Frontier is just 200 or 300 feet away from the house and they say we still cannot get it. I understand the sub station needs upgrading work but my house is just feet away.. Just three days ago they bring fiber up on friendly (over the hill- still approximately 1 mile from me) and today they just shot the fiber wire through the line and to the other end (below friendly hill) and some of the techs told me they will be bringing it up past my house (rippentuck road) while the other some are saying they don't think they will be doing this part. Anyone have a clue or any info on this? i have pictures.. » www.dropbox.com/s/t96e5z3vzdlxj5···54_1.jpg» www.dropbox.com/s/xp2ogx8rtgqy4r···55_1.jpg-- HT1000/ BeamID 32/ Power Max plan/ 4 pcs on a D-Link wired switch/ wireless D-Link router with password
