Suddenlink and SMPT

I have a few questions. I recently bought a 4 channel Samsung CCTV for my business, and I have the web/mobile viewing working fine, but I am having issues with the email service, in which the DVR sends you an email via SMPT when there is motion detected. I cannot get the SMPT thing to work at all. Research has had led me to believe it might be related to my ISP, in particular, Suddenlink, blocking certain ports. I have tried all permutations of Yahoo, Suddenlink, Gmail, Port 25, Port 465, Port 587, TLS on, TSL off, authentation on, authentation off, and nothing seems to work. Any thoughts of how to get this work?

Also, an unrelated question, I wanted to verify something I was told by Suddenlink about my commercial account. I called to inquire whether I can use a switch instead of a router between our cable modem and two computers, and he said yes because Suddenlink allows up to 5 static IP addresses per account. Is this true?

Thanks for your help.
