"Vandalism". Nah.

I see an "art installation"

Wouldn't surprise me if the fake signs were mounted in such a way that the original signs were never damaged. Anyone paying that much attention to detail is not very likely to get sloppy during the installation.

"Suck It Calgary" Love it!

Great stuff, Edmonton.

Should be left in place.

Let Calgary respond in turn. People need humor.

Reminds me when someone stole the Y in the Stoney Creek sign and replaced it with a R.

That's too funny. When I was living in edmonton the usual slogan "City of Champions" kept getting stolen.... I guess with the Eskimos and Oilers droughts people took offense to them. The city would put it back up and some would take it back down. Now someone's replaced them all together

Hilarious prank ... but ... “It’s pretty elaborate,” Budd said. The replacement signs were attached first with construction adhesive, then screwed in for double measure. “There will likely be damage.”

We used to some serious pranks on campus signs during Engineering Week at the U of A. But using static-cling Vinyl or just double sided tape.
