ESPN join:2003-02-22 Allentown, PA | [Other] Billing Issue Greetings,
My last 2 bills have been incorrect. I have the Broadcast Basic Internet Package for $39.99. It appears my bundle has doubled in price with late fees also doubled with two late fee charges for $5.00 My last 2 bills show my package went from $39.99 to $115.45 for unknown reasons. Nothing has changed. We contacted customer care and I was told that a workorder was added to my account in error. I have not requested any changes of service nor does my bill reflect any changes of services. Can someone in RCN please address this. Attached is screen shot of my bill. |

 | I believe that retail rate is only $89 for internet + $5 for a modem. So that is shockingly high. |

 | Was there a warning on your previous bill that your rate was going up? They are not legally required to do that, but I think they always do it as a courtesy. |

ESPN join:2003-02-22 Allentown, PA 1 edit | No warnings, just HBO promo and FOX owned channel name changes. By the way, from RCN chat - Max P.: I see what happened. There are two discounts for that package and one did not take, though I'm unsure why. This is why the price is much higher than it should be. Trouble Ticket [Removed]. Does rcncares still monitor this forum? It has been a while since I been here.

What explanation did billing have when you contacted them? -- Insanity is living in a state of illusion. |

| There must be some correlation with the retail rate card »www.rcn.com/images/pdfs/rate-card-lhv.pdf Downloads up to 25 Mbps/Uploads up to 2 Mbps ........... $67 Downloads up to 50 Mbps/Uploads up to 6 Mbps ........... $92 Downloads up to 75 Mbps/Uploads up to 6 Mbps ......... $120 HomeLan Service .... $4.95 Modem....... $5.99
I can understand a mistaken charge for a truck roll. About two years ago a bill arrived for Retail Rates, and it seems that the "special offer" expired, but either they didn't tell us, or we missed it on the bill. But they corrected the next bill (but not retroactively).
But a price for a service cannot arbitrarily go any higher than the published "retail rates". I am sure that is illegal. |
